2008 Stanford Energy Crossroads Conference
From Vision to Action: Sparking Global Change
Stanford University, April 30 & May 1, 2008
“From Vision to Action,” the theme of the 2008 Energy Crossroads conference, means going beyond the idea of clean, secure, and sustainable energy to actually achieving tangible action, results, and progress. We aim to empower the public and turn the “energy movement” into an “energy standard.” Our conference highlighted the ways in which energy solutions are being brought into the mainstream and are beginning to reach all individuals around the globe.
On Wednesday, April 30, we featured our opening keynote speaker, Cathy Zoi, CEO of Al Gore’s The Alliance for Climate Protection. The conference continued on May 1 with four sections: intimate round-table discussions, a keynote address, two panel discussions, and a Clean Energy Expo. Michael Shellenberger, co-author of Break Through and co-founder of The Breakthrough Institute, discussed the global warming technology gap in the Thursday afternoon keynote. All these events are open to Stanford students, faculty members, and the community at large.
