2008 Energy Crossroads Conference

From Vision to Action: Sparking Global Change

Stanford University, April 30 & May 1, 2008

This year's conference is entitled “From Vision to Action: Sparking Global Change.” We will feature keynotes and panels discussing opportunities for “mainstreaming” clean energy solutions. “From Vision to Action” means going beyond supporting the idea of clean and sustainable energy, which has become widely accepted worldwide. To move the secure and sustainable energy movement forward, we need to focus on turning our ideas into action, results, and progress. We are looking to find ways to empower our community and turn the “clean energy movement” into an “energy standard.” In his keynote address at the inaugural Energy Crossroads conference Thomas Friedman told us that “Green has gone Main Street,” but that it has yet to actually “go down Main Street.” What will it take for green to go down mainstreet?

Featured speakers include the CEO of the Alliance for Climate Protection, Cathy Zoi; co-author of the award-winning Break Through, Michael Shellenberger; and representatives from Shell, the National Science Foundation, Walt Disney Imagineering, Climos, Electric Power Research Institute, Kleiner Perkens, the Prince of Morocco, the US-China Cooperation on Clean Energy, The University of California at Berkeley, and Stanford University.
